Welcome!

Welcome to User Based Casting's brand spankin' new blog! In celebration of three year's worth of Maximum Ride & Friends, we're going to take things to the next level by discussing how to break into the acting business, including how to format a resume, dress for an audition, prepare for an audition, and other must-know tools of the trade. Because I am a writer and not an actor, I would like to open the floor to those of you who know your stuff.

As a guest blogger here on UBC Blog, you and your article(s)/series will:
  • Be featured on the front page of our main site, User Based Casting
  • Be included in our weekly newsletter
  • Be tweeted and shared on our official Facebook page
  • Help teens across the world learn what it takes to be an actor or actress!

To apply, please send an email to social.userbasedcasting [at] gmail [dot] com with subject header "BLOG AUTHOR APPLICATION: [Your Name]." Please include the following information.

  • Your name
  • UBC profile URL
  • Qualifications (acting classes, training, etc)
  • A 1-2 paragraph pitch of a topic you would like to discuss and how you plan to execute it. Please include if your topic is meant to be a single post or a series of posts.
  • Your timeframe for completing the article(s).

We need experienced actors and actresses to discuss the following topics (but you are by no means limited to these topics for your proposal):
  • Formatting a professional resume
  • Professional conduct in acting
  • Preparing for an audition
  • Callbacks
  • Finding an Agent
  • Agency Scams
  • Accents
  • Crying on Command
  • Stage vs. Film

Feel free to submit material you have already published to UBC.
